Carolina Marquez

Carolina Marquez was born in Bogotà Colombia. In 1984 she moved to Spain to keep going with her studies, concentrating on her main interest and entering the School for Drama of Barcelona where she studies choreography and scenography. In 1991 she moves to Italy where she decides to attend the University of Venice and study languages.

In 1994 starts to work in trend discos as choreographer and set designer.Tireless and always creative, Carolina launches her own group “Los Diablos En El Cuerpo” which becomes very active on the Italian club scene. She then meets Sandro Secchi and Romano Bais and they offer her to record a single. This collaboration opens her the doors of the dance scene and hence she launches her first single on DIY, “Sexo sexo” for which, further to sing, she writes the lyrics: her debut single immediately becomes a dance hit and gets into the Italian Singles Sales Chart. “Amore Erotico”, Carolina’s second single, gets released at the end of 1998 and becomes one of the most successful italian dance single for the whole of 1999. Carolina Marquez’ style become her greatest strength, the way she proposes herself, her performances, all combined set her own personal style. During the summer of 1999, Carolina Marquez produces, along with Roberto Zucchini and Umberto Ferraro, her new single “Conta@cto”; supervised by Pierfrancesco Di Stolfo, with Max Moroldo and Maurizio Molella as executive producers. Cont@cto reflects the original vision of the artist. In the spring of 2000 Carolina produces along with Vanni Giorgilli and Pierfrancesco Di Stolfo a new single, “Super DJ”, a song that wants to stress the continuous evolution of the new trends which melt groove and sound, whereas djs become not just music selecters but creators of new atmospheres and emotions.…… the “DEEJAYSM” was born. Following up the huge success achieved with “Super Dj”, Carolina Marquez is back with “Bisex Alarm” a love story between two women who also love men. The single is produced once again by Vanni Giorgilli and Pierfrancesco Di Stolfo, “Ritmo”, the follow up written and and produced by Carolina Marquez, Vanni Giorgilli and Pierfrancesco Di Stolfo sets once again Carolina as one of the most successful dance artists in the summer of 2001.......... In October 2001 Carolina is back with another single, totally dedicated to her fans, “Discomani”, a genial word game to point out the strength and magic that disco lovers seek for in music.

In January 2002 Carolina Marquez, absolute protagonist of the dance floors, gathers all of her hits into her debut album “Mas Musica”. The idea took place once again as a trip through her music, floating on the emotions that an artist like Carolina Marquez offers to her fans. The album runs through the whole career, since the beginning to the actual album release date, contains 14 tracks and further to her dance hits, includes “Desiderata”, a 1900 spanish poem that talks about life and the pursuit of happiness, that reminds how life is not just entertainment, but this is crucial to everybody’s life.
